Rapper Kendrick Lamar performs at the [+] As was expected, Kendrick Lamar’s new album DAMN. has started at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with a large opening frame, easily beating out the competition. The record kicked off with an impressive 603,000 copies, of which 353,000 were sales. That gives Lamar the largest opening frame of 2017 thus far, ahead of even Drake’s More Life, which managed just over half a million units in its first seven days. DAMN. is Lamar’s third consecutive No. 1 album in as many years on the all-encompassing tally. He first made it to the top of the ranking in 2015 with his record To Pimp A Butterfly , which was immediately heralded as a triumph in the rap world. Just one year later, Lamar gifted his fans with the compilation untitled unmastered., which wasn’t so much a proper album as a collection of songs that he had never released that were all, as the title suggests, untitled and unmastered, but that didn't stop his massive fan base from buying the e...

Babachir Lawal: What Nigerians say

— 23rd April 2017 By Onyedika Agbedo As far as people like us are concerned, we don’t think this government has done anything much in this corruption war. That they suspended the SGF, who has been accused of corruption for so many months, is not something that the government should be praised for. Besides, who are members of the committee to investigate the allegations against the SGF? These are the same set of people in the government who cleared the man before. It’s like being a judge in your own case. So, it is still the same style of governance that we were running away from that we are still practicing in the APC government. There are so many things one can talk about. Look at the kind of money they discovered in an apartment in Osborne Towers, about N13 billion. They are now telling us it’s NIA that owns it. How can a government parastatal like the NIA, which is domiciled in the Presidency, keep that amount of money in a residential house? Nigerians are now moving about as if ...
